MAX GUROWSKI – Varsity Head Coach
- Head Lacrosse Coach / Teacher at Nease High School
- Born and raised in Rochester, New York
- Attended Webster Thomas High School and graduated in 2008 as a 3x Divisional Champion, 3x All-County member, 4-year letter winner, and the school’s all-time assist leader
- Member of the inaugural men’s lacrosse team at Jacksonville University
- Helped JU to 17 wins in the program’s first three years, with wins over two NCAA playoff participants, an appearance in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference semifinals, and a win over Navy in the Moe’s Southwest Classic
- During his time for the Dolphins he was a two-year starter at attack and a three-year letter winner
- Finished with 56 career points for JU
- Graduated in 2015, with a Master’s Degree in Education.
- Previous coaching experience includes with The Bolles School, Brine National Lacrosse Classic, Team Florida, PV Possums, Dawgs LC, LB3, Jacksonville Lacrosse Club, Webster Lacrosse Club, and as the Lacrosse Director at i-9 Sports
2016:
- Helped lead Nease to a 13-7 Record and finish as District VI Runner-Up
- Mentored an Academic All-American in Ian Areford, at St. Leo University
- Finished Top 15 in the State according to LaxPower and FLN
2017:
- Helped lead Nease to a 13-5 Record in 2017 and finish as District VI Runner-Up
- Competed against the #7 rated Strength of Schedule in the State of Florida
- Mentored an Academic All-American in Sean Howard, now at Florida Southern University
- Finished Top 20 in the State according to LaxPower and FLN
- Named US Lacrosse North Florida Head Coach of the Year in 2017
2018:
- Helped lead Nease to a 10-7 Record in 2018 and finish as District VI Runner-Up
- Competed against a Top 5 rated Strength of Schedule in the State of Florida
- Mentored two US Lacrosse All-Americans in Ashton Wood, at Mercer University, and Phil Mylet, at the University of Florida
- Finished Top 15 in the State according to LaxPower and FLN
2019:
- Played in the Top Rated District in the State
- Competed against another Top 20 rated Strength of Schedule
- Mentored Division I Commit Matthew Pounder who was named 1st Team All County
- Nease Lacrosse was awarded Pursuing Victory with Honor Grant from TPC
2020:
- Season cut short due to the Covid-19 Pandemic
- Mentored Division I Jacksonville University Signee Matthew Pounder who was named All State by the Florida Coaches Association and 2020 Lacrosse All-Star
- Coached 2020 Lacrosse All-Star Alternate Dawson Browning
- Nease Lacrosse was awarded Pursuing Victory with Honor Grant from TPC
2021:
- Helped lead Nease to a 10-6 Record in 2018 and finish as District III Semifinalist
- Competed against a Top 10 rated Strength of Schedule in the State of Florida
- Mentored 6 players selected as 904 Lacrosse All-Stars, 3 chosen for the Top 44 All Star Game, and numerous All County Selections
- Coached 6 student-athletes who are going on to compete at the Division II, III, MCLA, and NAIA levels.
- Finished Top 10 in the State according to LaxNumbers, Top 20 according to MaxPreps, and Top 12 according to FL
- Nease Lacrosse was awarded Pursuing Victory with Honor Grant from TPC
2022:
- Helped lead Nease to a 11-8 Record in 2018 and finish as District II Finalist
- Advanced to the Sweet 16 in the State Playoffs for first time since 2009
- Secured first State Playoff win since 2009
- Competed against a Top 10 rated Strength of Schedule in the State of Florida
- Mentored 4 players selected as 904 Lacrosse All-Stars, 1 chosen for the Top 44 All Star Game, and numerous All County Selections
- Coached 7 student-athletes who are going on to compete at the Division II, III, MCLA, and NAIA levels.

TYLER BLACK – Varsity Defensive Coordinator
• From Jupiter, FL and attended Jupiter High School
• Named All-America as a Senior at Jupiter HS
• Student-Athlete at Jacksonville University, 4 year starter at the LSM position
• As a Senior in 2014, was named Second Team All-Atlantic Sun
• Program’s all-time leader in caused turnovers (58) and third in JU history in ground balls (130)
• Team Captain in 2014
• As a Junior in 2013, MAAC Champions and named to the MAAC All-Tournament team
• Awarded the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week award on 3/18 and 4/1
• Previous coaching experience includes Ponte Vedra Sharks JV Head Coach in 2015 and Assistant Coach with the District Champion Varsity Sharks along with assisting in the Possums Club program
• Three time District VI Runner Up, Finished 36-19 in 2016, 2017, 2018 seasons
• Currently, Superintendent at Dream Finders Homes
